Housing & Meals

Nashville has become a major tourist center. Numerous hotels and short-term rentals are available close to the Vanderbilt Campus, including a Homewood Suites, Holiday Inn and more.

Across the street from the Blair School of Music is the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, which houses a large food court with varied options for eating.
A seven minute walk from Blair is the trendy Nashville neighborhood called Hillsboro Village. Hillsboro Village boasts an abundance of traditional and unique dining options. Popular among locals and tourists in the Pancake Pantry, famous for its flapjacks and the chance of catching a country music star eating breakfast!


There’s a reason Nashville has been dubbed ‘Music City! There is no shortage of venues to experience the sounds of Nashville. Take a walk down Broadway to get the true Honky Tonk experience, or take in a show at the Grand Ole Opry. Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and immerse yourself in the history of Country Music. Families will also enjoy a visit to the Grassmere Zoo, Adventure Science Center, or one of Nashville’s many parks and gardens.

The SAA does not run the workshops and summer institutes; it approves separate businesses to run them.
