Violin Book 3-6 Overview

Additional Schedule Information

This course will follow the development of bowing, left hand,
and musical skills through these 4 books. We will also
explore the development of independent practice techniques,
scales and appropriate etudes and reading materials.

Participants need to have passed the intermediate audition;
they also need to have registered all of these units with the
Class will meet online via Zoom on Wednesdays from 10:00
am—1:00pm Central Time. The dates will be April 3, 10,
17,24 and May 1.

Trainer Information

Nancy Jackson

Nancy Jackson is the Assistant Director of the Western Springs School of Talent Education, in Western Springs, Illinois, where she teaches both violin and viola. She is a registered Violin Teacher Trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas, and is active in training young teachers locally and at summer institutes. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Northwestern University. Nancy has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement from the SAA, and in 2017 was named Outstanding Studio Teacher by Illinois ASTA. She founded the Suzuki School of Music in Bismarck, North Dakota, in 1986. She has also taught at the University of Evansville (IN) Suzuki program, and Western Illinois University. Nancy is an avid golfer and cyclist, and also enjoys spending time with her two cats, Mimi and Musetta.
