Amy Gesmer-Packman

Amy Gesmer-Packman has studied extensively since 1976 with Professor William Starr earning a Bachelor of Music from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Music from the University of Colorado. During the summer of 1982 she studied with Shinichi Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan. She founded Boulder Suzuki Strings in 1982 and as director has seen the program grow to over 200 students. With over 40 years of teaching experience, she continues to take classes to further her education. Amy has taught at summer institutes and her students have been selected to play in the SAA conference orchestras. Starting in 2010, she has co-led five musical tours to Costa Rica for students in BSS. Her students have gone on to study at leading music schools including Julliard, Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, Oberlin and the University of Colorado.
