Skye Luong Chapman, age 17 and an upcoming Senior at Dripping Springs High School, began playing the violin when she just turned 5 years of age. She actually began her Suzuki training at 2 years of age when she took a Suzuki early childhood course for over 2 years. This course, taught by Suzuki instructor, Ms. Andrea Cannon from Houston, created a foundation that lead her to a love for music, a wonderful sense of rhythm and a strong desire to want to learn the violin! She began her private violin studies with Ms. Jenny Jensen from Houston, Texas. Upon moving to Dripping Springs Texas in the summer of 2009, she continued her private lessons with Suzuki violin teacher, Ms. Jennifer Teague, for 7 years. Since September of 2016, she has been under the tutelage of Suzuki violin teacher, Ms. Nicolette Soloman.

Skye has played the Region 18 Orchestra for 5 years in a row. Two years as a Middle School student and three years as a High School Student. As a member of the Dripping Springs Orchestra Club since 2014, she has performed in many local venues, festivals, and weddings in a small chamber group setting. She has also played several 4th of July concerts with the community orchestra, the Starlight Symphony, as well as many solo performances at private recitals, her church, and local nursing homes. Skye is now excited to be a part of the new Dripping Springs High School Tiger Orchestra!
