Looking for an institute with a strong sense of community in gorgeous surroundings? Come participate in one of the oldest Suzuki institutes in the country!

Join us in a week of intense music learning in a nurturing, supportive environment on the campus of University of Portland, overlooking the Willamette River. We are located 15 minutes from the Portland Airport so travel is very easy! We are 40 minutes from Multnomah Falls, 90 minutes from the Oregon Coast, and 45 minutes from wine country. Come join us for a week of community, creativity, and challenge, through music and art.

Pricing

Student Fees

  • Books 1-3 $510, 4 classes each day/5 and 1/2 days of institute
  • Books 4-5 $585, 5 classes each day/5 and 1/2 days of institute

Books 4+: Intro and Advanced Chamber Music Workshop, $800, 6 classes each day/7 days of institute

  • Enrichment classes $90, including Bucket Drumming, Fiddle for All, Orchestra, Origami, Orff, and Singing

Teacher Fees

  • Cello Book 1 with Heather Hadley $700 (All cello students can borrow a cello so that you don’t need to travel with one)
  • SECE Level 5 with Danette Warren $650
  • Viola Practicum with Betsy Stuen-Walker $500
  • Violin Book 4 Ed Sprunger $500

Housing & Meals

Housing is available in University apartments with AC, laundry, kitchen and living room.

  • Single Room $250 (Sunday-Friday)
  • Double Room $210 (Sunday-Friday)

Kids 6 and under stay for free.

Teen Activities (games, snacks, fun for teens 13-18)
$125- Teen evening activities for students. Sunday-Thursday, teens play games, watch movies, eat snacks, and hang out with their new (and old!) friends at camp.

Recreation

University of Portland is a beautiful campus with large green spaces for outdoor play…soccer, frisbee, hammock, picnics, reading, and music!
10 minute drive to Forest Park with walking and hiking trails, 15 minute drive to downtown Portland and Powell’s Books, 40 minutes from Multnomah Falls, 90 minute drive to the Oregon Coast.
