Northern Virginia Suzuki Violin School is directed by Vivian Crespo-Almond, who has 25+ years of experience in this field. The last 15 of those have been in the Northern Virginia area.

Mrs. Crespo-Almond holds a BM in Violin performance from the University of Arkansas where she studied under Maestro Rico Mcneela. As someone guided by the Suzuki lineage, Mrs. Almond has taken and continues to pursue a wealth of training offered by the SAA under certified teachers throughout her years of teaching. After pursuing multiple levels of certification, the most significant training is her post-graduate work under Ronda Cole at the University of Maryland where she audited and taught in a 2-year master’s program in Suzuki pedagogy. She has also benefited by the tremendous generosity of other teacher trainers, primarily Martha Shakford.

Vivian also performs regularly in The D.C. area in a variety of chamber ensembles such as the Amore Trio and in the Potomac Symphony Orchestra among others.
