Mrs. Teri Nelson
Teri Nelson has been teaching violin in the Huntsville/Madison area since 2004. She enjoys working with students from ages 3 to adult and currently teaches full time from her home studio. From 2004-2016 Teri also served as a faculty member of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra School where she taught as well as trained and supervised new teachers in the educational outreach program. Teri is active in the community playing in area ensembles and performing with local church groups, in schools and at special events. Teri graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy and a double emphasis in violin and voice. She combines her training, skill and experience as a performing artist with her years of experience as a professional Music Therapist to provide a unique learning environment for her students. Her teaching style is firmly rooted in Suzuki philosophy and methodology. Teri believes every student has the potential to learn and develop musical skill. She creates a positive and nurturing learning environment while encouraging students to achieve their highest potential. Teri’s goal is to help students become skilled musicians with great personal character.
