I retired in 2012 after 32 years of teaching for the Wichita Falls, ISD. The last 8 years of my teaching career, I taught a Suzuki Violin program that was a magnet program for one of the elementary schools. Most years, I taught around 30 students in that program. My students in that program were in demand for various performances and many have continued to play violin in high school, college, and beyond.
Upon retirement, I expanded my private studio in my home. I currently teach students from age 3 to adult, beginner to advanced. For most, I use the Suzuki method, but also incorporate some traditional teaching, depending on the needs of the individual student.
My students consistently qualify for All-Region Orchestra, Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra, and WFISD Elementary Honor Orchestra. They also consistently score Superior ratings in UIL Solo/Ensemble Contest, state Solo/Ensemble Contest and the WFISD Elementary Solo Festival.
Although I live in Wichita Falls, I have students from the surrounding area in north Texas and southern Oklahoma.
I also play professionally. I play first violin for the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra and play both solos and ensembles for freelance opportunities throughout the area.
Please feel free to call or e-mail if you have a budding violinist or one who has already taken lessons and needs a private teacher.
