I have taught Suzuki Violin in the Wichita Falls, Texas area for 15 years in a number of venues. As of the end of the 2021-2022 school year, I will be relocating in the Taos/ Angel Fire area in New Mexico and am moving my teaching studio there. I am excited for this new opportunity.

I retired in 2012 after 32 years of teaching for the Wichita Falls ISD. The last 8 years of my teaching career with the WFISD, I taught a Suzuki Violin program that was a magnet program for one of the elementary schools. Most years, I taught around 30 students in that program. My students in that program were in demand for various performances and many have continued to play violin in high school, college, and beyond.

Upon retirement, I expanded my private studio in my home. I currently teach students from age 4 to adult, beginner to advanced. For most, I use the Suzuki method, but also incorporate some traditional teaching, depending on the needs of the individual student.

My students consistently qualify for All-Region Orchestra and Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra. They also consistently score Superior ratings in UIL Solo/Ensemble Contest, and the Wichita Falls Music Teachers Association Solo Festival.

In 2016, I was instrumental in the formation of the Gail Key Academy of Music in Wichita Falls. Through that program, I teach Suzuki violin three different elementary schools.

I also have played professionally. I played first violin for the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra for over 30 years and play both solos and ensembles for freelance opportunities throughout the area.

Please feel free to call or e-mail if you have a budding violinist wanting to begin lessons, or one who has already studied violin and needs a private teacher.
