Violinist and Teacher Sherri Zhang received her Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from the New England Conservatory and her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance/Violin Suzuki Pedagogy from the Cleveland Institute of Music. During her time at CIM, she took long-term Suzuki teacher training with Kimberly Meier- Sims.

Sherri’s primary teachers include Joseph Gatwood, Yuri Namkung, Paul Biss, and Stephen Rose (The Cleveland Orchestra). She has also played in many masterclasses for prominent artists such as Joseph Silverstein, Atar Arad, Elmar Oliveria, Peter Salaff, Tong-Wei Dong, Lucy Chapman, Paul Katz, Ian Swensen, the Emerson Quartet, the Cavani Quartet, the Ariel String Quartet, the Borromeo String Quartet, and Quatour Ebene. Sherri supplemented her violin training by attending several prestigious summer festivals such as the Meadowmount School of Music, Heifetz International Music Institute, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Orford Music Academy and the Fontainebleau Music Festival, Encore Chamber Music
Sherri has also played in the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Canton Symphony, Atlantic Symphony, NEC Philharmonic Orchestra, and the CIM Orchestra.

As a passionate violin teacher, Sherri has experience teaching students of all ages in a private, group, and chamber music setting. Her goal is to inspire students to love and appreciate music through violin playing and valuable life skills. She believes that every child has the ability to learn and should be given the opportunity to explore music.
