Sarah has studied violin for 15 years. She started her musical journey at the age of 6 and studied with three teachers (Dr. Amy Harris, Katie House, Colleen Ferguson) through the University of Texas at Austin’s String Project. In 2018, she graduated from Hope College with a double major in Music and Biology. At Hope, she studied violin with Mihai Craioveanu while also performing with the Hope College Symphony Orchestra for four years. During her senior year, she was a member of the Accidental String Quartet and had the opportunity to study music history in Vienna, Austria, under Dr. Wolfgang Reisinger, an accomplished organist. Currently, she is completing coursework for a Master of Arts in Music (Pedagogy Emphasis) at Texas Woman’s University while studying violin under Dr. Ania Bard-Schwarz. She frequently plays for weddings, churches, and events. Her hobbies include swimming, playing soccer, experimenting with post-modern music on amplified acoustic violin, and learning about music and the brain.
