Hello! Thanks for visiting.

*Update May 2020: I am teaching via Zoom and hosting monthly studio classes for all of my students. I’m still accepting new students at this time.

I have nearly 20 years of teaching experience with students of all ages and abilities. My students are members of the Crowden School, Oakland Youth Orchestra, Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra, the Berkeley Youth Symphony, Villa Sinfonia, and the YPCO. Former students have gone on to study music at Wheaton College, UC Riverside, UOP, and other universities.

I received my formal Suzuki training from William Starr while earning my Doctorate in violin performance from the Univerity of Colorado at Boulder. I also hold Bachelors and Masters degrees in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where I studied with Paul Kantor and William Preucil.

I have further training in the methods of Kato Havas and Paul Rolland, as well as the movement educational methods of Body Mapping and the Alexander Technique. With this background, I have worked with many players to reintegrate (or just integrate!) principles of healthy movement and mindfulness into their violin playing.

I also can help students design ergonomic custom chin rests and shoulder rests, which can then be 3D printed.
