Sally Cathcart

After graduating from the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Miss Cathcart entered the University of South Carolina School of Music as a Music Education Major with a Violin Performance Certificate. She participated and taught in the USC String Project all four years, and was Associate Concertmaster of the University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestra during the 2021-22 season. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2022 as a Capstone Fellows, and as the Robert Van Doren Most Outstanding Music Education senior, and then entered the University of South Carolina as a Graduate Assistant as a part of the USC Graduate Quartet, graduating from the the Master of Music in Violin Pedagogy in 2024. She has performed in a chamber music festival in Germany, and in the Varna International Muzika. She was the Vice President of the American String Teacher Association, USC Chapter. She is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, American String Teacher Association, and SC Music Educators Association. Miss Cathcart has completed Suzuki training in Violin Book 1. She performs and teaches regularly in the Columbia area.
