Hello my name is Ruth Klinginsmith. I have lived in Sandpoint for 16 years with my three children and husband and our Frenchie puppy Stella. I grew up in the Seattle area and have the privilege of studying violin with some amazing professors from University of Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran University. I studied violin performance through the Royal Conservatory of Music and String Pedagogy at Bob Jones University. Some of the artists who have been inspirational to me are Itzhak Perlman, Hilary Hahn and Joshua Bell. I have taught violin for over twenty years. Although I was trained in the traditional method I have held to the Philosophy of the Suzuki Method of Every Child Can and “Character first then ability”. I have become an advocate for the Suzuki Method because of the success I have witnessed in so many families’ lives. It is truly a life changing work where community is built, students are inspired and lives are transformed. I would love to be a part of your Suzuki Journey!

“Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens. If children hear fine music from the day of their birth and learn to play it, they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. They get a beautiful heart.”

― Shinichi Suzuki
