Miss. Rebecca Weddle
In 2013, Rebecca was awarded the Ben Heppner Prize in music and was the overall Concerto Competition winner at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, soloing twice with the Symphony Orchestra. Among her other awards are the Presidents Honors Award in music, the Harvey E. Mittenthal Chair Scholarship, the Joann Falletta Endowed Music Scholarship, and the Marshall Powell String Award.
Early in her undergraduate studies at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, Rebecca discovered a passion for teaching in addition to performance and began pedagogy studies with Beethoven’s Buddies founder Dr. Beth Bauer. This passion has only grown in the years since and Rebecca has thoroughly enjoyed her positions teaching violin at the Community School of the Arts in Wheaton, IL, The String Academy of Chicago and the CODA outreach program in West Chicago public schools.
A firm belief in music’s unique power to soothe, comfort and inspire combined with a deep love for people guides her pursuit of excellence in music, and she hopes that through it she might bring much happiness to those around her, and have a part in training up successful, engaging and joyful individuals.
