Bio

Rebecca has performed as an orchestral, chamber and solo musician throughout the United States, France, Germany, Belgium and South Korea. Rebecca was a 2017 second place winner of the American Fine Arts Festival String Competition, which resulted in a recital performance at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall. In April 2022, Rebecca received the opportunity to collaborate with Violins of Hope, Varna International and The Richland Public Library (Columbia, South Carolina) on a special performance and presentation regarding violins and stories of the Holocaust. Passionate about sharing music in the community, Rebecca has served as concertmaster of the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra, as a section violinist of the Quincy (IL) Symphony and also as a violist in the St. Louis Civic Orchestra. Rebecca has performed in the violin sections of the Aiken Symphony Orchestra and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony.

Rebecca founded The Roubidoux Chamber Players, which is a small chamber ensemble comprised of volunteer retired, amateur and professional woodwind and string musicians with ties to the Fort Leonard Wood Military community.

Rebecca’s interest in teaching started while she was a student mentor for PING (Providing Instruments for the Next Generation) in Oak Park, Illinois for middle school violin students. Since then, Rebecca has spent her summers as a counselor and staff member at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Brevard Music Center and the Western Illinois Summer Music Institute. She has maintained private teaching studios throughout the Midwest, South Korea and South Carolina.

Rebecca holds Violin Performance degrees from Western Illinois University (Bachelor of Music) and the University of Iowa (Master of Arts). Rebecca’s teachers were Julieta Mihai, Katie Wolfe, Sarah Torrenga, Nancy Jackson and Kristin Hedlund. Rebecca studied chamber music with Moises Molina, Istvan Szabo and Elizabeth Oakes. Rebecca has completed Suzuki Violin Teacher Training with Nancy Lokken, Beth Titterington and Daniel Gee Cordova. Rebecca completed Suzuki Early Childhood Education training (Stage 1) with Sharon Jones.

Rebecca also currently serves as Coordinator of Academic Services at DePaul University School of Music.
