I am a classically trained violinist but now consider myself primarily a traditional fiddler. Classical technique is the best way to play and it forms the basis of my teaching. Using two of the most popular violin school methods, Suzuki and O’Connor, I provide my students with a varied and proven way to learn how to play the violin.

Of course no single style of music can be interesting to everyone, so I encourage exploration into whatever it is my students want to play themselves. I always say, “I don’t care what you want to play, I just want you to want to play.” All while maintaining guidance at lessons and a constant progression through the Suzuki and O’Connor books to remain grounded in technique.

My students are just as comfortable in their school orchestras as playing for dancing.
