As a Suzuki student growing up I learned to love music at a young age. I then continued studying violin as a Music and Mandarin Chinese double major at Trinity University in San Antonio Texas. I then moved to Honolulu Hawai’i for the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa’s masters of Asian Studies program, researching the cultural and musical context of the first Chinese violin concerto, Butterfly Lovers or 梁山伯与祝英台. After completing this, I am now continuing my graduate study in music of China at UHM. I have also started teaching violin at Trinity Christian School’s in Kailua after school program as I work through Suzuki teacher registrations. I am excited to get to be a part of student’s live as my teachers were in my life.
