Monica Mac Michael has had a long and fulfilling career as a private violin and viola instructor, public school orchestra teacher and performer. After teaching “traditionally” for a myriad of years, she “saw the light” and began the fascinating journey of learning all things Suzuki. Monica has had the honor of studying Suzuki books and principles with master teachers Liz Arbus and Charles Krigbaum.
Currently, Monica lives in Bradenton, Florida. She is collaborating and training with master teacher Martha Shackford, founder of The Suzuki Music and Teacher Training Academy of Tampa Bay.
Monica is an active member of the viola section of the Arizona Opera Orchestra. She performs with many local orchestras, and in the past has performed with the Phoenix Symphony and the Houston Ballet Orchestra. Her Bachelor and Master’s degrees are in Instrumental Performance.
Monica received her Music Mind Games Unit 1 Teacher Training with Michiko Yurko.
Her hope for the future is to guide many students in discovering the joy of playing the violin and viola and the miracle of making beautiful music!
