Michelle is the director of the Hudson Valley Suzuki Music Academy in Poughkeepsie, NY. She attended Ithaca College with a graduate assistantship and now holds a Master of Music in Suzuki Pedagogy and Viola Performance. At Ithaca College she studied viola with Kyle Armbrust and Suzuki Pedagogy with Carrie Reuning-Hummel. She attended the State University of New York at Fredonia for her undergraduate studies, where she took viola lessons with David Rose and earned a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance, graduating Summa cum laude. In addition to her long-term Suzuki training, Michelle has also taken Suzuki violin training units with Kimberly Meier-Sims, James Hutchins, Ed Kreitman, and April Losey. She is registered for eight units of Suzuki Violin and Unit 4 of Suzuki Viola. In January 2020, Michelle established the Hudson Valley Suzuki Music Academy in Poughkeepsie, New York. This new school offers lessons to beginning violin and viola students in the Mid-Hudson Valley region.

In addition to teaching, Michelle enjoys performing as a solo, orchestral, and chamber musician. She loves learning and performing contemporary pieces just as much as works from the Baroque period and all music in between. In her teaching, Michelle hopes to inspire passion and love of all music, foster individuality, and provide a positive, nurturing environment for creativity and learning.
