Megan currently resides in Albuquerque with her husband, James, and her two daughters. She and James, a cellist, perform regularly in chamber music series all over New Mexico and the Southwest, with an emphasis on new music but a love of the classics. Megan has performed as soloist and chamber musician all over the United States and Europe. They are both former principal players in the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in Charleston, SC. They relocated to Albuquerque in 2007 to pursue chamber music and Suzuki teaching studios. Megan enjoys teaching violin students from age 3 on up. She received teacher training with Susan Kempter, who was her own teacher at age 4! After many years of telling parents what to do, she is experiencing what it’s like to be a Suzuki parent first hand with her own daughter. What an eye opening experience! Megan is also a founder and teacher of Mesa Suzuki Groups, which offers group lessons in Albuquerque.

In addition to being trained as a Suzuki teacher, Megan holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Southern California. Her primary teachers include Susan Kempter, Leonard Felberg, David Updegraff, Robert Lipsett and Ralph Fielding.
