Lu received her Masters of Performance diploma in violin performance at Longy School of Music, Masters of Arts in Violin Performance from Eastern Michigan University. She served as a concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra of Eastern Michigan University in Fall 2004, 2005, and was the Eastern Michigan University winner of the concerto competition in 2005. In 2006 she was a soloist performer with the Eastern Michigan Symphony Orchestra in Peace Hall.

Lu makes her priority to get to know the student on a personal level, becoming familiar with each personal musical needs and goals. She is sensitive to the fact that every student is an individual and she will work with the student to make a plan that will fit the needs and musical preferences. Her bright personality creates a warm and inviting environment for students to learn and grow. A cornerstone of her teaching philosophy is that students learn the solid fundamental technique in an easy way and enjoy the practice. In her teaching, she mixes both Suzuki and traditional approaches. Lu uses creative approaches to keep her students interested in playing their instrument and motivated by their accomplishment.

Lu has over 15 years teaching experience working with both children and adults in private and group settings. She worked as a teaching assistant in Cambridge public school in Fall 2009 and taught violin in Keys for Kids, Lexington from 2007-2010.  Many of her students participate in BYSO, NEC Prep Orchestras, as well as Junior and Senior District Auditions.
