Lisa Honea is an active performer and teacher in the Orange County area with more than thirty years experience. She is a native of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Long Beach, where she studied flute with John Barcellona and piano with Barbara Allen. Post graduation she continued her private studies with Ann Zentner, and masterclasses with Louis Moyse and Heather Clark.

In addition to her private studio, Mrs. Honea has coached chamber music for the Orange County Junior Chamber Music association and the Music Teachers Association of California VOCE Competition and Festival. Internationally she has performed and coached chamber music for the Orquestra Criança Cidada as well as soloists in the Conservatorio de Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil.

Mrs. Honea believes in the importance of developing well rounded students with the skills necessary to succeed in any musical environment. Sight reading, ear training, music theory, and an understanding of historically accurate performance practice are all necessary components of a complete musical education. Developing these skills is important for students to master the art of performance and grow as life long learners.

Mrs. Honea is a member is the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the Music Teachers National Association, and the National Flute Association.
