Piano Teacher, Parent, Student
Ken began his Suzuki piano teacher training with Merlin Thompson at a summer institute in Edmonton. Since then he has studied pedagogy with Marilyn Anderson, Caroline Fraser, Peggy Swingle, Edmund Sprunger and Gail Lange. and regularly updates his studies at institutes and workshops in Canada and the USA. He has a diploma in Jazz piano performance from Grant MacEwan University and has professionally played various venues and projects since the early 80’s. Ken also has his level ten Royal Conservatory piano and is currently working towards an ARCT diploma. His wife and three boys also keep him busy when he’s not teaching or practicing. You may also see Ken teaching taekwondo to kids and adults with physical and mental challenges as part of a Paralympic volunteer program.
