Ken began his Suzuki piano teacher training with Dr. Merlin Thompson at the 2006 Edmonton Summer Suzuki institute. Since then he has studied pedagogy with many Suzuki teacher trainers including Marilyn Anderson, Caroline Fraser, Peggy Swingle, Edmund Sprunger and Gail Lange. Ken regularly updates his studies at institutes and workshops in Canada and the USA. Traditionally trained through the Royal (then Toronto) Conservatory, he studied extensively at Edmonton’s Grant MacEwan College with note-able Jazz musicians such as Tommy Banks and Charles Austin earning a diploma in Jazz piano performance. He has earned his level Ten Royal Conservatory Diploma and is currently working towards an ARCT diploma. Ken is keen to share his experience and knowledge with your family to help you bring out the best in your child. His wife and three children also keep him busy when he’s not teaching or practicing. You may also see Ken teaching Taekwondo to kids and adults with physical and mental challenges as part of the Paralympic Sports Association. He currently teaches out of his home studio in southeast Edmonton, Alberta.
