KARLES MCQUADE is Program Director for the Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association. In addition to having SAA-registered training in all ten Suzuki Violin Books, Karles holds a double-B.Mus. in violin performance and Suzuki pedagogy, magna cum laude, from the University of New Mexico, where he studied with Susan Kempter, Carmelo de Los Santos and David Felberg. He incidentally holds a B.A. in physics from Oberlin College, where he studied baroque violin with Marilyn McDonald, and did ensemble work with Jeanette Sorrell. He has also studied baroque violin with Jeanne Lamon, Rachel Podger, Robert Mealy and Elizabeth Blumenstock. His favourite chord (and ice cream!) is Neapolitan.
