Ms. Kari Kuhns

Kari began her professional teaching career in 2014, after graduating from Lee University with a degree in Music Education, Piano Emphasis. She currently teaches at Stuart Heights Baptist Church (Hixson Campus) and Chattanooga Christian School and accepts all students ages four and above. A native Chattanoogan, Kari studied piano under Margy Barber in middle and high school and went on to study with renown concert pianist Ning An while in college. Kari is a registered Level 1 Suzuki Piano Teacher and a graduate of the Suzuki Method herself. She is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and the National Association for Music Education.

In addition to teaching weekly private lessons to over 20 students, Kari serves as the Choral Accompanist at Chattanooga Christian School, playing piano for all of the middle and high school choirs. She is also the accompanist for the Scenic City Children’s Choir and has played for other events in the Chattanooga area. In addition to music (which does take up most of her time), Kari enjoys traveling, baking, and a good cup of coffee. Her philosophy of teaching is that all students can learn piano with the right approach and diligent practice.
