Kandice Nelson graduated in 2013 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Choral Music Education from the University of Arizona.In her 4 years teaching at Chaparral Elementary, she created a 4-6th grade orchestra program eventually totaling 60 students in addition to her Kindergarten through 6th grade general music and 4th-6th grade choir duties. Miss Nelson has experience conducting 4th-12th grade choirs, 4th-8th grade orchestra, high school and college bands, and teaching PreK-8th grade general music. After graduating May 2020 from Northern Arizona University with a Master’s Degree in Instrumental Conducting, she is currently teaching 6-8th grade choir and 4th and 5th grade beginning strings in Scottsdale Unified School District. She is always excited to apply her Suzuki Violin Book 1 and Paul Rolland Pedagogy Levels 1 & 2 and continuing her passion to teach and conduct string players.  As a soprano, Kandice Nelson has sung in church choirs and as a guest soloist in various settings. She enjoys teaching music theory through the Kodaly methodology of solfege and music literacy.
