A native of the Midwest, violinist Jonathon Winter has performed as a solo, chamber, and ensemble musician across the United States and Europe. Recently, Jonathon has performed as soloist with the Oneota Valley Orchestra and the Eurasia Chamber Orchestra of Berlin, and has performed in masterclasses with Kathrin ten Hagen, Henning Kraggerud, Judith Ingolfsson, and Zakhar Bron. He has also attended the Round Top Festival Institute, Euro Music Festival and Academy, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Castleman Quartet Program, and has been a member of the AIMS in Graz Festival Orchestra. Equally comfortable as a studio musician, Jonathon can be heard on a Latin Grammy-nominated album with Jorge Mejia under Sony Music, has recorded for jazz singer Patti Austin, and has performed with major artists such as Bruce Hornsby, Jeff Beal, Diane “Deedles” Schuur, Kristin Chenoweth, and John Williams, among others. Also an emerging educator and a formally trained Suzuki Method teacher, Jonathon is a violin instructor at the Suzuki School of the Frost Preparatory Program at the University of Miami where he maintains a full studio of young violinists.

Jonathon holds a Bachelor of Music with Honors from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Music from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. His principal teachers include Mark Bjork, Charles Castleman, and Carol Cole. Now based in Boca Raton, Florida, Jonathon is a Performer’s Certificate candidate at the Lynn Conservatory of Music and performs regularly with the Palm Beach Symphony.
