Jiun-Ru Wang is an active Taiwanese cellist who has performed in various international concert venues throughout United States of America, Europe and Asia including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and Alice Tully Hall in New York City, The Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Pepsico Hall in Texas, Concert Hall of The French- Czech Academy of Music in Telč, Taipei National Concert Hall and Taichung National Theater in Taiwan, Tieling Concert Hall in China, and the Theater of Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

As an educator, Jiun-Ru is a strong believer in that “Every child has the possibility to be a great musician.” She prides herself in promoting not just the proper way to educate children in mastering cello performances, but more importantly, helping the students develop a love and passion for music. Being a passionate and energetic teacher, Jiun-Ru teaches a wide variety of students, ranging from young kids to adults, as small as individual lessons to large group classes in both Taiwan and Eastern Pennsylvania. Before pursuing her Doctoral degree, she was a cello instructor in several music institutes in both Taiwan and Pennsylvania, and she served as a high school’s general music teacher in Taiwan. Ms. Wang had also served as a Suzuki cello instructor at The Germantown Academy in 2018-2019. Ms. Wang is currently being a part of the faculty of the City String and Piano in Pennsylvania.

Jiun-Ru’s open mindedness and energetic personality provided opportunities to receive invitations from a great variety of groups in Taiwan and the United States. American ensembles and orchestra include Harmony for Peace (assistant principal), Cello Bash, Aviva Strings, Philadelphia String Quartet, Temple Early Music Ensemble and Temple New Music Ensemble. Taiwanese ensembles and orchestras include Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Taichung Symphony Orchestra, Taichung 12 cellos, Fulfilment Ensemble, Alan Ensemble, Geng-Xin Chamber, Hotshot Cello Choir.

Jiun-Ru has formed a piano trio- The Raritan Trio in 2019. The Raritan Trio has achieved the highest esteem such as winning the Rutgers Chamber Music Competition, receiving a full fellowship to Mimir Chamber Music Festival, and being invited to participate in Carnegie Hall’s Audience Engagement Intensive program. Their performance experiences include various venues throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

In addition to being a classical musician, Jiun-Ru performs in LIVE musical shows, and pop music concerts. She was featured as the cellist in a short award winning independent film, Touching The Sound (2017).

Jiun-Ru Wang studied with Arkadi Kuchynski to pursue her Bachelor in Music Degree in Cello Performance (2011) at Tung Hai University. She received her Master of Music Degree in Cello Performance (2014) and The Professional Studies Post-Master’s Certificate in Cello Performance (2016) at Temple University under the tutelage of Jeffrey Solow. Currently, Jiun-Ru is pursuing her Doctoral of Musical Art Degree at Rutgers University, studying under Jonathan Spitz.
