Jessica Landes began private violin teaching in 1993. A seasoned Suzuki student herself, she studied Suzuki piano for 13 years and Suzuki violin for 11 years before receiving her B.A. in Music Education in 2000. In 2015 she completed her Master’s in Music Performance with a concentration in Suzuki Pedagogy. In 2011-2013 her studio, Landes String Studio, in Pittsburgh, PA collaborated successfully with local libraries to provide inter-disciplinary programs for the general public. Her studio is currently located in Wilmington, NC.

She writes, “Many thanks to my patient and endlessly creative Suzuki teachers—Cheryl Yerkes, JoAnn Wagstaff, and Elizabeth Hess—and my inspirational Suzuki teacher trainers—Martha Shackford, Linda Fiore and Joanne Bath.”

As an accompaniment to her active studio she enjoys her diverse side jobs, which in the past have included titles such as “event manager,” “orchestra librarian,” “violin 2,” and “lambing assistant.” She is currently a member of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and the Wilmington Chamber Orchestra. She has performed with the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival “Next Gen” series, the Lancaster Symphony, the Williamsport Symphony, and in June 2017 performed with Stray Local for the Festival International de Musique Universitaire in Belfort, France.

Jessica enjoys music of all sorts, busking, campfires, beach combing, crafting, rollerskating, and spending restful weekends with her family.
