Jessica Arce-Larreta

I majored in viola performance in college, studying at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and a master’s degree from DePaul University in Chicago. I taught both children and adults viola and violin for several years in high school, then spent my time freelancing in the Chicago area during and after graduate school. Since moving back to Utah, I’ve been playing viola with the Salt Lake Symphony and viola and guitar with the acoustic trio Mimi’s Muff and rock band Dead Zephyrs. I taught in the after-school music program for El Sistema in 2013-14, and have maintained a private violin/viola studio for kids and adults in my home in Sugarhouse since 2013. I love teaching music and seeing where students’ interests and questions about music take us!
