Jennifer Tripi is a private piano teacher in Norman, OK. She became a Norman resident after completing her graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma. She began playing piano at the age of five, and at age six, already knew she wanted to be a teacher. Jennifer earned a Master’s of Music Education with an emphasis in piano pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma, as well as a Bachelor’s of Music in piano performance and pedagogy from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.
Jennifer specializes in early childhood music education and is interested in developing basic piano technique in young children. She resonates with the philosophy of Dr. Suzuki, and strives to utilize his method in her teaching. Jennifer is currently training in the Suzuki Method for piano, and has studied under Mary Craig Powell and Rita Hauck.
Jennifer is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, as recognized by the Music Teachers National Association. She is active as a presenter, giving recent workshops at the national MTNA conference, the University of Oklahoma, and the Pike’s Peak Music Teachers Association in Colorado Springs. She is a regular adjudicator at music association events around the state. Jennifer currently serves as the Chair for the Moore-Norman District Achievement Auditions through OMTA.
In 2011, Jennifer performed at the Haydnsaal in Eisenstadt, Austria as part of the Classical Music Festival. Jennifer regularly performs new works at the University of Oklahoma, accompanies soloists and ensembles, and takes lessons in order to maintain her own musicianship.
Jennifer started Norman Suzuki Piano and currently serves as the director and owner of Imagine Music and Arts in Norman, Oklahoma.
