Jane is currently studying for her Master of Music in Violin Performance at the University of Michigan under the instruction of David Halen, a concertmaster at St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma, where she studied under Dr. Hong Zhu (Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra) and began her professional musician life in USA. Originally from South Korea, Jane attended University of Suwon for a year and graduated from the Anyang Arts High School for violin and orchestral music studies.

During her time in Oklahoma, Jane served principle second violin in the University of Central Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra and associate concertmaster in the University of Central Oklahoma Chamber Orchestra. Outside of college, she played with the Painted Sky Opera, Oklahoma City’s professional opera company, from 2021 to 2022 and won a 1st Alternate Prize and $500 Cash Award in string section from the Oklahoma City Ladies Music Club Competition in 2019. She received Viola Bowman String Scholarship, University of Central Oklahoma Foundation Scholarship, and Dr. John Clinton Orchestra Endowed Scholarship, which were awarded by committee nomination, and Symphony Scholarship, Non-Resident Fee Waiver; Music, College of Fine Arts and Designs Scholarship, and so on while she attended University of Central Oklahoma. She served as a Global Leadership Ambassador at the University of Central Oklahoma and received Global Education Award Scholarship and Global Scholarship while fulfilling her role. She also was awarded for Outstanding Senior in 2021 and President’s and Dean’s Honor Roll in 2020. 

In South Korea, she has previously served as concertmaster of the University of Suwon Symphony Orchestra and section violinist of the Anyang Arts High School Symphony Orchestra. Her experiences in high school have had a profound influence on the direction on her musical journey. As a high school student, she won the Honor Prize in high school department from 2017 Sang Myung Nationwide Competition and 2017 Se-Jong Arts Cultural Foundation International Music Competition and the 3rd Prize from 32nd Han-Eum Music Competition. 

Jane started playing piano when she was 5. She won the 2nd prize in piano section from the 21st Kyung-Hyang Music Nationwide Competition in 2007 when she was 7. She studied collaborative piano at the University of Central Oklahoma under the instruction of Dr. Sallie Pollack. After she graduated from the college, she was referred to the full-time job by her collaborative piano professor, Dr. Pollack, and has served as a Choir Assistant Director and Choir Piano Accompanist at the Mustang Public Schools; Mustang North Middle School for the 2021-2022 school year in Mustang, Oklahoma. As a music educator, she has enormous experiences in teaching music. She currently has a private studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan and is also currently teaching violin and piano privately at the Treeside Music Academy (since May 2023) and Expressions Music Academy (since October 2022).  Jane previously worked as a private violinist instructor at the University of Central Oklahoma School of Music from 2021-22 and as a Civic Youth Ensemble Mentor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in 2022. Jane is an experienced teacher in both large group lessons and private classroom settings. Jane is currently registered as a certified teacher for Violin Book 1 and in a process for Violin Book 2, 3, and 4 with Mark Mutter.

Every year, Jane participates in summer music festivals. She fulfilled her role as an Orchestral Fellow at the 2022 Miami Beach Classical Music Festival and as a merit-based scholarship awarded student at the 2023 Sewanee Summer Music Festival. She currently plays with symphony orchestras based in and near Michigan. She has performed with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra in Windsor, Canada and Rochester Symphony Orchestra in Rochester, Michigan.
