I’m Jamie. I grew up as a Suzuki student, with weekly private and group lessons, and went to Suzuki summer camps in Flagstaff, AZ. As a teenager, competed in old time fiddle contests. I put a pause on non-classical music when I attended and graduated from the Wheaton College (IL) Conservatory of Music in Violin Performance (B.M.). However, after graduating, I rediscovered my non-classical side, and currently perform different fiddle styles, blues, jazz, rock, improv. I also perform with “gadgets” like my loop pedals and effects.

As a teacher, I want to bring the best out of students. I’m huge on memorizing music, rhythm, music theory, tone, ear training, and finding joy in music. I also accompany on the piano (or guitar for fiddle styles). I was an adjunct music professor at Eastern Nazarene College (MA), and now enjoy teaching private students of all ages in Suzuki, and other music styles.

I live with my husband Stephen, and golden doodle Sensei.
