Isabel is a violinist living in Los Angeles, California. She studied music from UC Berkeley and graduated from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. She was a winner of the 2010 William Grant Still Competition, the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) Concerto Competition, and has performed as a soloist with the San Fernando Symphony. In addition to maintaining a private teaching studio,  Isabel presently serves as a Teaching Artist with YOLA for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as part of Gustavo Dudamel’s vision. As a teacher, Isabel believes in the Suzuki philosophy: all children are capable of learning if they are provided with the right environment and given proper guidance and encouragement. She tailors her teaching to every student’s individual needs and believes that the key to a life-long relationship with music is a happy connection to the act of practicing.
