Irene Claude teaches flute at Music House in Chicago, St. Giles School in Oak Park, Saint Xavier University, South Suburban College, Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Chicago, and in her Hyde Park studio. She played second flute with the Lake Forest Symphony from 1998 until 2020 when the orchestra folded, and plays flute and piccolo with the New Philharmonic (College of DuPage). Irene performs on faculty recitals at South Suburban College, Saint Xavier University and Music Teachers of Hyde Park Artist Recital Series. She is also a Music Together teacher for Marsha’s Music.

Irene has a Master of Music degree from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has completed Suzuki pedagogy studies in Books 1-5, and training in Dalcroze, Music Together, Kodaly, and Orff Schulwerk. She is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Chicago Flute Club, Dalcroze Society of America, Music Teachers of Hyde Park, National Flute Association, and Suzuki Association of the Americas.
