Huanhuan Sun has performed as soloist, chamber musician and orchestra player. She was born into a musical family in China and started to play violin when she was age 4 with her father. She made her debut at age 6 and won the 2nd price of Anhui province violin competition in China when she was age 7. She was a finalist of Yong Siew Toh Conservatory’s concerto competition, playing Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Violin Concerto in E minor.

In 2002-2011, she attended Shanghai Music Middle School affiliated to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She studied with Professor Lu Mengda, who is the concertmaster of Shanghai Sinfonietta orchestra and The Paris international Orchestra.
She graduated from Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore with a full scholarship under Professor Zhou Qian in 2015.

Huanhuan is currently a master student of Violin Performance & Violin Suzuki Pedagogy at Cleveland Institute of Music under the head of the violin department, Professor Joan Kwuon and Professor Kimberly Meier-Sims.

Huanhuan has performed widely in Singapore, China, Italy and the United States, such as in Esplanade Concert Hall, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, Victoria Concert Hall,The Republic Cultural Centre Theatre, Teatro degli Unanimi: Arcidosso, Tuscany and The Cleveland Institute of Music.

She has performed in the master classes held by famous musicians such as  Gábor Takács-Nagy, David Takeno, Vilmos Szabadi, Takacs Quartet, Fournier Trio,Tong Wei dong, Huang Bing, Kia- Hui Tan, Wang Hong, Dima Tkachenko.

Huanhuan has appeared at many world-renowned music festivals, including the InterHarmony International music festival in Italy in 2013, and The Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival with a full scholarship, in the United State in 2014.

She is a concertmaster of The Cleveland Women‘s Orchestra in 2017.
She also had teaching experience when she studied in Singapore. Between 2013-2014, and worked in Aureus Academy and Nexus International School in Singapore.
