Halsey Holt began her violin studies in the public school system when she was ten years old. She began her solo career at the age of fifteen with the Cache Symphony Orchestra and held the position of concert-master for the Seattle-based Ensign Symphony Orchestra. Over 25 years ago she fell in love with the Suzuki method and began teaching private studio lessons. Today, in addition to homeschooling her seven children, five of which play string instruments, she maintains a full private studio.
