Mrs. Gretchen E. Stanton

Gretchen holds a B.A. in Music Education from Colorado Mesa University. She plays in the Grand Junction Symphony and directs the local youth orchestras. Before starting a family, she previously taught orchestra at East Middle School for 7 years, and various other schools when they needed substitutes. Now she concentrates on her private students from all over the Grand Valley. Many have made it to Allstate and Western States Honor Orchestras and continue playing into adulthood.
From the youngest Twinkler to retirees, she enjoys teaching every student to play beautifully. Group lessons are available at scheduled times. Theory is taught in a fun, dynamic and interactive way and students always ask when their break for theory is going to be during the lesson! Learning stringed instruments is hard but she likes to bring the fun to it and teach parents how to positively interact during practice time.
