Violinist Erin Phelps Reidhead received her bachelor’s degree in violin performance with Academic Honors from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Stephen Rose, principal second violin of the Cleveland Orchestra. During her time at CIM, Erin took long-term Suzuki teacher training with Kimberly Meier-Sims. Erin has been on faculty at the Sato Center for Suzuki Studies at CIM since 2012. Her students have been accepted in many area youth orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra, and have served as concertmaster of the String Sinfonia at CIM.

An avid orchestral musician, Erin is a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and is also a frequent performer with the Akron Symphony, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, and BlueWater Chamber Orchestra, amongst others. In past summers, she has participated in the National Repertory Orchestra, Beijing International Music Festival and Academy, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Banff Masterclass Residency, and ENCORE School for Strings.

Originally from Frederick, Maryland, Erin grew up as a Suzuki student, studying with Ronda Cole and Lisa-Beth Lambert. She currently resides in Pepper Pike, Ohio with her husband, horn player Ben Reidhead. She is a Suzuki mom to a violinist, a bassist, a cellist, and one undecided toddler.
