Currently based in Boulder, Colorado, cellist Erin Patterson is a member of the internationally acclaimed Altius Quartet. She made her solo debut with the Huntsville Symphony performing Elgar’s Cello Concerto at age 17. An avid supporter of the creation and realization of new music, Erin has given over 15 premieres of new works and has worked with numerous composers over the course of her career. Erin has been a member of the Grammy nominated, all cello ensemble Uccello, and has been invited to teach at festivals such as the Cincinnati Young Artists Chamber Music Festival, the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and the National Academy Orchestra of Canada. Erin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Cincinnati College—Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Alan Rafferty, and a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music under the tutelage of Matt Haimovitz. She currently resides in Colorado with her partner, Paul, and Catahoula, Lilo.
