Elisabeth Sims is a teacher and performer of violin and viola in the Salt Lake City area. She has been teaching for around eight years and has a love of teaching music to people of all ages both privately and in group settings. She is a firm believer that “Every Child Can” and always seeks to create an uplifting and encouraging environment for her students. Her students enjoy playing in recitals both as a soloist and collaboratively.

Elisabeth received her Bachelors of Music with an emphasis in Commercial Music from Snow College. During her time there, she had the opportunity to study with violinists Sara Gunnel and Jack Ashton. She then went on to receive her Master of Music degree in violin performance and pedagogy from the University of Utah. She studied violin with Dr. Hasse Borup and viola with Julie Edwards of the Utah Symphony. During her time there she was a member of the Michie Graduate String Quartet and served as the concert master of the Utah Philharmonia Orchestra.

Elisabeth frequently freelances throughout Utah with the group, String FX, in venues such as weddings, funerals, and other events. When not playing violin or viola, Elisabeth enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her husband and family.
