Elisabeth Nielson Miller began studying the violin at the age of 3 as the third child in a Suzuki family. She began piano at the age of 5 and has played both instruments since then. Her teachers include Hiroko Primrose, Liz Westerlund Arbus, Tammy Cardon, Cheryl Norman, Reid Nibley, Ralph Matson, and Sheila Fiekowski. She has played in countless masterclasses and performances across the United States. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Utah where she graduated in 2006. In 2013 she completed Long Term Suzuki Teacher Training at the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut.

Libby began teaching in 1998 and has had studios ranging in size from 15 to 60 in Utah, Massachusetts, and most recently in South Carolina. An advocate for teacher training and continuing education, Libby attends teaching symposiums and completes teacher training yearly. Her Teacher Trainers include Edmund Sprunger, Edward Kreitman, Linda Fiore, Cathy Lee, Gabe Bolkovsky, Teri Einfeldt, Charles Krigbaum, Allen Leib, and Mark Mutter. She also frequently participates in local conferences, the biannual SAA Conference and biannual Starling-Delay Teaching Symposium at Julliard.

She feels it is very important to be actively involved in the musical community she lives in—meeting and collaborating with fellow teachers, volunteering at local school programs, and participating in community orchestras and ensembles. She most recently played with the Vista Philharmonic Orchestra (in Groton, MA) and the Plymouth Philharmonic (in Plymouth, MA).
