Ed Harper is a professional cellist, conductor, composer and arranger from the UK. He is currently in the process of completing his DMA at the University of Houston, studying with Anthony Kitai of the Houston Symphony Orchestra. Ed also holds a Master of Music Degree from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM).

After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Sheffield, Ed moved to Manchester in 2008 to complete a Master of Music Degree at the RNCM. Whilst there he held the positions of Principal Cellist with the Concert, Opera and Brand New Orchestras respectively, and had the opportunity to work with such esteemed conductors as Clark Rundell and Matthew Coorey.

In 2013 Ed relocated to Singapore to teach music in a new American International School, helping to develop the strings and orchestral programs, as well as founding an after-school Suzuki strings program for students aged 5-7. He has since gained registration as a Suzuki Cello Teacher from the Chicago and Austin Suzuki Institutes, and become a lifetime member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. During his time in Singapore, he also performed with the Orchestra of the Music Makers under Professor Chan Tze Law at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

Ed now lives in Houston, Texas, where he maintains a private cello and music theory studio, and performs with numerous professional ensembles in and around the Houston area. Alongside his wife, Katherine Sullivan, Ed is a founding member of H-Town Strings (; he is currently accepting new students into his studio.
