I am a 1980 graduate of Amarillo High School where I participated in the amazing orchestra program taught by Ron Wells who led us to earning the TMEA Honor Orchestra my sophomore year. I was also a member of the TMEA All-state orchestra for 3 years. I was a student of John Sumerlin.

I have had the privilege of playing with the Amarillo Symphony, Tupelo Symphony, Lubbock Symphony, and The Orchestra of the Pines located in Nacogdoches, TX. I have established and taught two homeschool string orchestras: The East Texas Home School String Orchestra in Lufkin, Texas and The Coastal Bend Strings in Corpus Christi, Texas. I have taught private violin and piano lessons for nearly 30 years.

I homeschooled my 6 boys for a total of 29 years which led me to teach many classes in various co-ops including: Ukulele, Recorder, a Charlotte Mason style music class, Latin and Crochet.

I love to teach the Bible to women and children and have a blog where I offer encouragement, ideas and original songs/hymns I have written: Bible Songs and More (www.biblesongsandmore.com) and another blog that is more family/home focused: A Keeper At Home (www.dandidow.com).

I am now teaching violin and piano in my home in Amarillo, Texas. My studio, Bridges and Strings, can be found at www.bridgesandstrings.com.
