Danielle Howard Dye, a Pacific Northwest native, is a dynamic strings instructor with a background consisting of working with youth and school orchestras as well as private instruction. She holds a BA in Music: Violin Performance and Pre-Teaching from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Danielle has taught strings in both classroom and private lessons since 2014 and has completed Suzuki teacher training in ECC and Units 1-3 on Violin and Viola. From 2019-2023, she was the Program Director and Viola Teaching Artist for the Junior Orchestra of Yamhill County (JOY) at Edwards Elementary; a program that is committed to access and equity in strings music education by providing orchestra and violin instruction in partnership with Yamhill County schools. During her time with JOY, she taught orchestra using Suzuki-based methodology for the classroom and did a lot of work in community development, curriculum development, and grant writing. Currently, she runs her studio out of her home and teaches students on violin and viola between ages 5 and 35 with an eye to launch group classes in early 2024.

Danielle currently plays viola in the Rose String Quartet alongside Julia Pridavka (violin), Sarah Barr (violin), and Sara Heyen (cello) for various event performances across Oregon wine country. She also is a violinist playing with the Tilikum Chamber Orchestra’s 2023-2024 season. She has performed with a variety of local groups in the past, including the Chehalem Symphony Orchestra, George Fox Chamber Orchestra, Master Chorus (guest string player), and artists Joel Martin and Ellie Hartman. When she isn’t involved in music, Danielle likes to dabble in songwriting, spend time with her family, go on runs, and sip her favorite teas and coffee. She is based in Newberg, Oregon where she lives with her music teacher husband, Ken, and many house plants.
