Christopher Dixon graduated with his Bachelors of Music in Music Education degree from Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University in 2007, having studied violin and viola with Olivia Hajioff and Marc Ramirez. He has taught in Prince William County (Virginia) Public Schools since 2007, and is currently the orchestra director at Mary F. Williams, Covington-Harper, and Triangle Elementary Schools in Prince William County, Virginia. Under his leadership, enrollment in the orchestra programs at his schools have increased dramatically. Mr. Dixon has played violin with several ensembles in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, including the Avanti Orchestra of the Friday Morning Music Club, the American Festival Pops Orchestra, and the St. Charles String Quartet. Mr. Dixon is currently the Principal 2nd Violinist and Orchestra Manager of the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra in Woodbridge, VA. He is the recipient of the 2017 Kathleen K. Seefeldt Award for Arts Excellence in the category of Outstanding Volunteer for the Arts. In addition to his busy performance schedule, Mr. Dixon also teaches private violin lessons at the Prince William String Academy in Manassas, VA.
