Mrs. Christiane Pors-Sadoff
Christiane Pors, a native of Hamburg, Germany, studied at the U.N.C.School of the Arts holds B.M and M.M. Degrees in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music as a student of Erick Friedman. Ms. Pors has appeared in solo, chamber, and orchestral music concerts throughout the Northeast.
Ms. Pors co-founded the Suzuki Violin Program at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in 1981. As the chairperson of the String Department of the Third Street Music School Settlement, she developed the Suzuki Prep Program, which trained parents and children in the Suzuki Method. Ms. Pors’ students concertized at the Cultural Center of New York, Florence Gould Hall, the Empire State building and the Plaza Hotel, and performed for violinists Isaac Stern, Maxym Vengerov, Joshua Bell, Jaime Laredo and Hilary Hahn.
Currently Ms. Pors is a member of the violin faculty at the Kaufman Music Center in Manhattan, where she teaches in the Suzuki String Program, and is a member of the Artist Faculty and Professor of Violin at N.Y.U. Steinhardt String Studies, where she teaches private lessons and Violin Pedagogy. She maintains a private studio on the upper west side of Manhattan.
