Carole Mayers holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music education-piano from Ithaca College and a Master of Arts in music from San Francisco State University. Ms. Mayers has been teaching Suzuki piano for 40 years and remains equally passionate about it now. She studied with Suzuki Piano co-founder, Dr. Haruko Kataoka, at summer institutes for 15 years, and continues to study with the Japanese teachers who are top instructors at Dr. Suzuki’s school in Matsumoto, Japan.

Carole was key in developing the all-instrument Graduation program in the Philadelphia area, based on Dr. Suzuki’s model. She has been chairperson or co-chair of this annual program since its inception in 1996.

Carole has been a guest clinician at summer Suzuki workshops in California and in the Philadelphia area. She directed annual piano workshops for the Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association, and continues to submit students for masterclasses with guest clinicians.

Ms. Mayers and her students participated in two 4-Piano Concerts in the Philadelphia area, and traveled to participate in the “International Suzuki Piano Basics 10-Piano Concert” in Sacramento, CA, on four occasions.

Carole Mayers maintains a private Suzuki piano studio in King of Prussia, PA, teaching beginners through Book 7. She actively collaborates with Suzuki colleagues to offer her studio enriching musical experiences. Carole was on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association, in the position of President and, for many years, Piano Vice-President, organizing annual Suzuki piano workshops.
