Mrs. Carol Ma Kwak

Carol Kwak earned her Masters of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy at The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a Bachelors of Arts in Piano at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Her students have won numerous awards, scholarships and competitions. Some of her piano students have gone on to study music/piano at the collegiate level and have performed on CSA’s Concerto concerts at the Wheaton College Community School of the Arts (CSA) where Carol currently teaches.

Carol’s passion for teaching the Suzuki method started when she was chosen to attend Hartt Suzuki Institute in CT as an undergraduate student. Carol was so inspired by the Suzuki method and philosophy that she furthered her studies in all Suzuki piano book levels including the practicum. After attending Hartt Suzuki Institute, she taught Suzuki piano students at Cadek Conservatory of Music. Carol has been trained by esteemed Suzuki piano teacher trainers Fay Adams, Marilyn Andersen, Karen Bartman, Yasuko Joichi and Caroline Fraser. Additionally, Carol gave a presentation at the biennial Suzuki Association of Americas conference featured on the SAA’s website.
