I am a classically trained violinist and a committed, passionate teacher with ten years of classroom experience in the Seattle area directing and conducting orchestras. My education includes a BM in Music Education and a BA in Mathematics from the University of Washington, as well as a MM in Violin Performance from Western Washington University. I have enjoyed performing with the Emerald City Ballet Theater, UW Symphony Orchestra, Cascade Symphony Orchestra and the Northwest Symphony Orchestra. In addition to my teaching experience, I have served as a conductor, coach and adjudicator for large group and solo and ensemble festivals, honor orchestras, and youth symphonies in the Pacific Northwest. I am currently serving as an examiner for the International Baccalaureate DP revised Music course, and I have the privilege of directing the orchestra program at St. Mary’s Academy in downtown Portland.

I am constantly evolving and reflecting on my teaching practice, and I am a life-long lover and learner of music. I have an interest in fiddle music, and I have spent time immersed in the Pacific NW old time music and dance scene performing for concerts, dances and festivals across the country.

I hold an Oregon Professional Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Music and Advanced Math.
I currently offer traditional violin lessons for students ages five and up, but I am looking forward to beginning my Suzuki training this month!
